My name is Sophie Rosenthal. I am a sophomore student at Elon University, where I am pursuing a major in journalism with a minor in peace and conflict studies. I was born and raised in New York City and am an alumna of Millennium High School in the Financial District of Manhattan. I currently work at the Center of Writing Excellence on Elon’s campus as a writing center consultant and at Elon News Network as the chief copy editor and as a reporter for the organization’s news website and for The Pendulum, Elon’s student newspaper. Upon graduating from college, I hope to work as a politics or investigative reporter, and I am interested in long form reporting. My interests include activism, politics, investigative journalism and music.
In all of my roles, I focus on writing. As chief copy editor, I focus on grammar and structural edits in journalistic writing. I am proficient in AP style. At the writing center, I consult mostly on broader, big picture revisions for all types of writing, from business memos to research papers. I also report on news and lifestyle stories at ENN.
